Fantasy Grounds offers a number of built-in rulesets. In addition, there are commercial rulesets that we sell on our storefronts and also community rulesets available that you can manually install for your system.

What is a ruleset?

A ruleset is a set of instructions that Fantasy Grounds follows to run your game. It describes what makes up objects in your games: player character (PC), non-player character (NPC), item, spells, etc. and how they interact with each other. If you want to create a new object for your game, you can fill in the fields with information from your books and the program will understand this.

Info

A ruleset does not automatically include any data. Data may or may not be available for a ruleset. Most of our commercial rulesets will also contain one or more data modules that represent the contents of rulebooks for that system. They may also include lists of monsters, items and spells.

Please pick from the games below to view ruleset-specific help for that system or look over the available Community Rulesets that are available for Fantasy Grounds.

There are many more rulesets available to purchase or install than are listed in the table above. We are constantly adding and updating documentation as rulesets are added.

If you do not see a help section for your favorite ruleset above, please check the Game Systems forum for community ruleset assistance.
