Transformers Cross-Play
The Essence 20 GI JOE, Transformers, and other games from Renegade that use Essence 20, support Cross-Play.
If the GM has modules for more than one Essence 20 game, the Character Selection screen will offer players a chance to create a sheet from one of the other modules detected.
NOTE: To avoid flooding a game with copy-records (Such as skills that are the same for all Essence 20 games), the GM doesn’t need to actively have the other modules loaded. They just have to be available from the Module Activation window for the Character Selection window to begin offering the other character sheet types.
A character sheet from a different ruleset will default to using the theme the current ruleset is using, but still offer the key aspects the character sheet needs to play properly.
For example: A Transformers character sheet made in GI JOE will be created with the GI JOE theme, but still offer the correct factions (Autobot, Decepticon, Cybertronian), the ability to use a Transformer’s Altmode to transform, a category for Energon, and other features unique to the Transformers RPG.
NOTE: Some sections of a player’s sheet may have support for cross-play but not be used in your ruleset. For example, the GI JOE player sheet lets you set your attacks in the “Abilities” tab to either “Integrated”, or “External”, but it doesn’t matter either way for a GI JOE. But that is an important designation for a Transformer player sheet. This may be updated in the future as further rulesets are added, but for now it just depends on what game you’re playing and may be useful for GMs to expand on in their own campaign.
