Options - Per User - Settings

In this section, we will explore each option in the Per User category.

NOTE: The D&D 5e ruleset is being used for screenshots and animations below as portraits, maps, items, weapons, etc. are readily available, whereas CoreRPG does not have any of these things by default.

Only the options available in CoreRPG Campaign Options are being shown below.

Color: Active character

image-20260122-220348.png

Changing the character and pointer colors in CoreRPG, and many other rulesets that use CoreRPG as its base, allow you to easily change your character color and corresponding pointer color from the Options menu.

Clicking the color bubble pops up a small, unassuming “Choose Color” window. This allows you to change colors for your character indicator and associated pointers as seen in the examples below.

If you control multiple characters in a campaign, you can customize the Character Color for each character individually. Simply click on each character with the Option window open, and note how the Color: Active character setting changes.

Combat: Remove on miss

image-20260204-203459.png

This option allows you to set whether combatants are automatically removed from targeting if an attack is missed or fumbled.

Multi: If you have only one target in the Combat Tracker, and an attack misses them, they will not be removed from the Tracker. If multiple targets are targeted, any that are missed will be removed.

On: Whether there is a single target, or multiple target, all missed targets will be removed upon a failure.

Off: No targets are automatically removed from the Combat Tracker.

Desktop: Restore windows on start

image-20260122-222747.png

This option restores windows that were open when the campaign was exited. This can be particularly handy if you have a lot of windows open and arranged how you like them when closing the campaign.

Dice: Manual Entry

image-20260122-223039.png

Use this option to enable the manual dice entry feature. When on, all dice rolls will be intercepted and the Manual Dice Entry window will pop-up and allow the DM to cancel the roll, create a “faux roll”, roll and allow the die to generate the usual random number, or only send the results to the chat window without visually rolling a die.

Roll Type: Shows what type of roll it was. In this case, a roll was dragged from the dice bar at the bottom of the window.

Expression: This shows the configuration in which the dice were rolled. In this case, a single d20 was rolled (1d20).

  1. Die Value Edit Field: This is where the GM will place the numeric value they wish the die to display when rolled. In this example, the die is a d20, so you would enter any number between 1 and 20.

  2. Cancel: Clicking the Cancel button will remove the roll entirely and no dice will be rolled.

  3. Faux Roll: Clicking the Faux Roll button will make the roll on the desktop, but the number displayed on the die face will not match the number entered in the Die Value Edit Field. The edited number will be reflected in the chat window.

  4. Roll: Clicking the Roll button will roll the die as usual generating a random roll. It will not reflect the number entered by the GM in the Die Value Edit Field.

  5. OK: Clicking the OK button will not roll a die on the tabletop, but will simply output the value of the Die Value Edit Field in the chat window as if it were rolled.
